What We Do

Glen S. Fontecchio Architects is a full service design firm specializing in thoughtful and sustainable context-sensitive design. After serving as project architect for several landmark projects including Providence's renowned River Relocation Project and Relocation of Interstate 195, Glen established his own firm in 2005.

Recent commissions have consisted of several distinctive waterfront and inland homes including The Dacha in Tiverton, Rhode Island and the Capozzi Residence in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Current work includes the design of a new inn, a new staff residence building and historic restoration of the Spring House Hotel on Block Island, and several historic home renovation and new construction residential projects. Community projects include the recent completion of the East Providence Senior Center, and a collaboration to prepare design guidelines for the East Providence Waterfront District, the Providence 'Downcity', and Portsmouth Town Center.

Each design job we undertake has its own set of parameters to consider and we seek to provide elegant and timeless solutions. Glen's experience offers him a unique understanding of not only the key elements for successful public and waterfront structures, but also the intricacies of coordinating the "real life" needs of infrastructure and budget. It is his firm philosophy that successful and sustainable projects evolve and strengthen when a balance is found between these often competing interests.
